Cochise Writers

Second and fourth Tuesday of each month, from 4:30 to 6:45 p.m., in the Sierra Vista Public Library conference room.

Free critique group for poets, short-story writers, memoirists, novelists, nonfiction writers, and bloggers of all experience levels. Participants also share information and insights about business issues.

Creative Writing Celebration: Open-Mic Night | Portal

First Saturday of each month, from 5 to 7 p.m. (Arizona / Mountain Standard time), at Sky Islands Grill and Grocery (37 Portal Road; Rodeo, NM).

"Family friendly" prose, poetry, and song. Four minutes per participant.

Free poetry critique group. Participants should bring extra copies of their work for the other attendees.

Cochise Creative Writing Celebration

Friday-and-Saturday event held each April at Cochise Community College's Sierra Vista main campus.

Hands-on workshops and presentations for aspiring writers by recognized authors. Writing competition with three categories.


Poetry Month at the Copper Queen Library

Annual, month-long series of events at the Copper Queen Library in Old Bisbee. Celebrates National Poetry Month.

Readings and workshops by established poets. Readings by local poets.

Tucson Festival of Books

Saturday-and-Sunday event held each March on the University of Arizona campus, Tucson.

Presentations, workshops, and readings by recognized authors. Entertainment and food and retail booths. Most events are free. Has writing competitions.
